Contest participants should respect the requirements of the program and offer their solutions in a creative, thoughtful way that will respond to the needs and objective of competition development.
CRITERIA FOR MARKING PROGRAM APPLICATIONS
The jury will evaluate the contest solutions based on the following criteria:
- Compliance with the requirements for the cultural heritage protection: Respect and contribution to the preservation of authentic and protected architectural elements of the facility, as well as the integration of protective measures in the modern and innovative design of the object.
- Spatial concept and architectural expression: A clear spatial concept, recognizable in the basic idea, a unique design solution of the object and open space, harmonious fit into the immediate environment, affirmation of the significance of the museum and the overall contribution to the aesthetic and functional identity of the space.
- The function and organization of the space inside the building and the open space: The quality of the solution in relation to the characteristics and significance of the purpose and program requirements, the effective organization of internal spaces – the distribution of content within the program zones, their interconnection, as well as the logical connection with the open space. Functional solutions should provide unhindered access to different user groups.
- Originality and innovation: The implementation of unique and creative ideas that should advance the traditional design of museum spaces, using modern technologies and materials.
- Aesthetic contribution: Creation of visually appealing and attractive exterior that should contribute to the aesthetic identity of the space. The interior space should be original and artistically inspired, forming a distinctive and aesthetically pleasing ambience. The exterior and interior together should represent the future purpose of the space with dignity.
- Sustainability of the contest solution in the context of environmental and energy efficiency: Application of environmentally friendly materials and methods that reduce the impact on the environment, as well as the use of advanced technologies that reduce energy consumption and improve the performance of the facility in terms of energy efficiency.
- Economy of the solution in execution and exploitation: The planned solutions should be economical and justified during the exploitation of the object as well as provide the possibility of phased realization.
